KPI032 | Ship availability V3.0
Key Performance Indicator
The KPI expresses the deviation between the ship's actual unavailability and the planned unavailability. It calculates the ship utilization as a percentage of the total utilization time available during the rolling year (24 x 365). By doing this, the sensitivity of the KPI to small changes in PIs is decreased while at the same time, the case of having zero planned unavailability (PI062) is also covered.
Interpretation | This KPI expresses the DOC holder’s ability to comply with the plan for the ship's availability. |

Formula
[formula]KPI032 = \frac {(24 \times 365 - PI062) - PI003} {24 \times 365 - PI062} * 100\% [/formula]
PI003 | Actual unavailability |
PI062 | Planned unavailability |
Example
PI003 | Actual unavailability | = 23 |
PI062 | Planned unavailability | = 18 |
KPI Value | Vessel availability | = 99.74% |
Rating Formula
[formula] \begin{align} \displaylines { KPI_{Value}\\ KPI_{MinReq} = 97\\ KPI_{Target} = 100 } \end{align} [/formula] [formula] KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {(KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq})} {(KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq})} [/formula]
Rating Example
KPI Value | = 99.74% |
KPI MinReq | = 97% |
KPI Target | = 100% |
KPI Rating | [formula]=KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {(KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq})} {(KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq})} = 100 \times \frac {(99.74 - 97)} {(100-97)} = 91[/formula] |
