KPI031 | Training days per officer V3.0
Key Performance Indicator
The KPI expresses the ratio between the officer training days over the total number of officer working days, basically the average number of training days per officer day at sea.
Interpretation | This KPI expresses the DOC holder’s commitment to maintain and enhance the officers’ competence. There is no objective way to express the quality of training so the number of days is used as a proxy for performance evaluation. |
Notes | Computer based training (CBT) is not included in the KPI due to difficulties in capturing accurate data. |

Rating Formula
[formula] \begin{align} \displaylines { KPI_{Value}\\ KPI_{MinReq} = 0\\ KPI_{Target} = 0.03 } \end{align} [/formula] [formula] KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {(KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq})} {(KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq})} [/formula]
Rating Example
KPI Value | = 0.013 |
KPI MinReq | = 0 |
KPI Target | = 0.03 |
KPI Rating | [formula]=KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {(KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq})} {(KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq})} = 100 \times \frac {(0.013 - 0)} {0.03-0} = 43[/formula] |
