KPI005 | CO2 efficiency V2.6

Key Performance Indicator

This KPI expresses the energy efficiency of the ship by comparing emitted mass of CO2 to the ship’s total transport work.

The expression gives the emitted mass of CO2 per ton cargo transported one mile. As the PI Value ’Emitted Mass CO2’ is to be given in tons, the figure is multiplied by 1 million to get the KPI value in g/transport work (tonmile, passengermile, TEU mile, etc).

Unitg/[Cargo Unit] Mile
Scope
Calculation period
Formula

[formula]KPI_{Value} = \frac {PI007} {PI064} \times 10^6[/formula]

PI007Emitted mass of CO2
PI064Transport work
Example

AEmitted mass of CO2:= 130,500 ton
BTransport work:= 20,710,647,000 ton mile
KPI ValueCO2 efficiency[formula]= \frac {A} {B} \times 10^6 = \frac {130,500} {20,710,647,000} \times 10^6 \approx 5.0 \frac {g} {ton mile} [/formula]
Rating Formula

[formula] \begin{align} \displaylines { KPI_{Value}\\ KPI_{MinReq} = 84\\ KPI_{Target} = 36 } \end{align} [/formula] [formula] KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq}} {KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq}} [/formula]

Rating Example

KPI Value= 5.0
KPI MinReq= 84
KPI Target= 36
KPI Rating[formula]=KPI_{Rating} = 100 \times \frac {KPI_{Value} - KPI_{MinReq}} {KPI_{Target}-KPI_{MinReq}} = 100 \times \frac {5 - 84} {36-84} = 100[/formula]
